2005-11-6 New version available !

Hello All !

Sorry for sending this out twice, explanation follows below.

You haven't hears from me for a long time. As you may know I've downgraded EHC to a lower-level hobby due to little-to-no earnings from it.

Anyways, I have still been working on it a bit when I've had time, and I have just finished uploading version 2.3.1.

New in this version:
1. Mass payments, be careful, it's been tested, but as always I want no responsibility if something goes wrong (I very much doubt it will, but just in case, you know :) Also, you should always be careful with mass-payments, a simple decimal delimiter error or wrong currency specification can have catastrophic consequences when making multiple spends !

2. For some reason payment receive fees suddenly started showing up before the actual received payment, making things look a bit messy at times. This has been solved by adding some more sorting to the downloaded data. You will probably have to "clear history and update" to fix this in the already downloaded history if you have this problem.

3. Added an option to Ignore an account in the current filter when right-clicking on it in the left view.

4. You'll probably notice that this news is popping up twice. There was a bug in the notification system of the last version that caused an error when trying to diplay a single news, so I have to send it twice to avoid this... This should be fixed in the version 2.3.1 (in other words: If you don't update now you will most probably receive an error next time I try to get in touch, as I will not send out the news twice next time :)

5. 2.3.1 has been on the way a long time, and I honestly don't remember what else I've done, but I think it's mostly minor bug-fixed apart from what I've already mentioned.

Update EHC by going to http://www.oz-coding.com/ and clicking download. As a new thing I've also uploaded an "update-version", which is only the .exe file, that way you won't have to download the entire installation and go through the uninstall and so on. Simply overwrite your current .exe, and it should be good to go. I've been thinking of adding an auto-update feature, but I haven't been able to figure out a decent way to do it without compromising security, so it's most likely that updates will continue to be manual.

I've also updated the site a little (minor changes), and it'd be great if you paid it a visit every once in a while, and maybe left a comment, when you're really bored or hungover ;o)

And as always a reminder that talking EHC up in forums can pay off, 50% of any subscription-income you generate goes straight to your account.

Hello EHC users !

I just write to let you know that I'm back on the net !

I'm very very sorry that it has taken me this long to get back, what happened was that my phone line was closed while I was in denmark because I didn't pay (which I didn't because my stay in denmark turned out to become a lot longer than expected). I've been waiting for a new number for almost two months.

But now I have it, and I'm back. I've just finished answering all the e-mails you've sent while I was away, but obviously it was mixed up in a huge pile of SPAM, so chances are that I've deleted something I shouldn't have. In other words: if you've sent me a mail, and haven't received a reply by now; please send it again.

Hope all of you are still enjoying EHC ;)

2004-11-17 Resend, and a few added sections (the extend bug)

Hello again everyone !

I have just finished sending replies to all your mails.

Thank you all for calling my attention to the bug in the extend script. Amazing how a small "NOT" can change everything, huh? Completely my mistake, my father interrupted me while working yesterday, and while talking to him I added a "NOT" in the middle of a line... That would probably mean that if you had entered an invalid batch it would have accepted :)

Anyways, it's fixed now, so feel free to extend your subscription.

Also: Those of you who have forgotten your original batch: Just write me, and I'll find it, It's best if you can tell me your e-mail that you used when signing up, but for most people I can look it up under the e-gold account used to pay as well. E-mail is easier, so please try to include that one if you remember what it was.
I have already helped out a few people here, some of them has been with me from the beginning (when EHC cost $1), but the "never pay again" guarantee goes for everyone who I gave it to... Even at $1 :)

So far I have had no negative reactions on the program itself, so I think that's very positive. 24 hours after all the updates I've sent out previously I have always received at least 20 bug-reports...

There is some bug in the mailing list script that results in several confirmation mails being sent. If you receive more than one, you need to click the link in the last one you receive as the verification code will be invalid in the others.

Last thing I forgot yesterday:
I need someone to help me write a help file. As explained on the new site (under help) I'm not very good on user-friendlyness. If you are, and you use most (preferably all) of the features in EHC, including the new ones, you feel you know them pretty well, and you can find the time then I would appreciate a helping hand on this matter. I will provide some sort of compensation, but we'll agree on that later, as it shouldn't be the primary concern.

Finally: I am of course still, like always, open to suggestions, both for new features and for improvements to current features. I do not make any guarantees that I am able (or want) to add your suggestions, but since I'm not a huge international corporation it won't hurt to ask ;)

2004-11-17 EHC is switching to pure subscription service

Dear members,

this is a very important update.

I have been working on a new version of EHC for the past month and a half, and I am finally done.

There are lots of new features, and bugfixes in this version, and I'll try to list all at the bottom of this mail.

However the most important change that you need to know about is that EHC will no longer be sold "per copy", but will instead be a subscription service.

If you have previously paid for EHC this won't affect you though: I have promised you that you would never have to pay me a dime again, and I'll keep that promise. You will get one free subscription with no time limit. However you have previously been allowed to use EHC on as many computers as you liked. There has been no practical way to set this up, so if you need to use EHC on more than one computer from now on you will have to buy an extra subscription.

Prices are currently $3 for 30 days, $6 for 90 days and $10 for 180 days. I do reserve the right to change these either way without notice.

Old users will have untill the 1st of january to claim their free subscription. That is the cut-off date, and it is final.

To claim your subscription you simply need to download the new version off the website (http://www.oz-coding.com), install it, click "extend subscription" and enter the batch-number of your original transaction. People who won EHC in the draw will have a similar number which was mailed to them, and they were told to keep it. If for some reason you cannot find your batch (or draw) number, just write me, and I'm sure we'll figure it out.

Together with the new version is also an update for the website, which I would of course appreciate if you check out.

I have for the first time been working together with an EHC user during the entire process.
He has helped me a great deal, both with ideas, but also a lot of testing.
Great respect goes out to Alan for this.
He is actually the entire reason for this update. As some of you may have known I had given up on EHC, at least I'd given up developing it further due to a lack of sales. Alan got me motivated, and I've really enjoyed working on EHC again.

Ok, now for all the new features, I'm extremely proud of the changes that has been made this time.
1. Spend functionality. You can now make spends directly from EHC.
2. History verification has been optimized, so it no longer takes hours to verify the integrity of downloaded history even if it's very large.
3. .CSV export function. I know many of you have been asking for this... You can export to .csv which is readable by most spreadsheet apps (such as excel)
4. Much harder encryption of locally stored passphrases
5. Right-click in account and transaction lists will give you a menu with new features such as "return spend", "repeat spend", "copy" and more.
6. Quick-links directly to the most used e-gold pages, including the account preferences.
7. A bit of userfriendlyness I hope, at least the error-box gives you some possible solutions now.
8. Build in messaging system, so I can get in touch with all users, without having to use their e-mail.
9. Seperate filters for each account, plus the filter editor only shows accounts that the current account has done business with.
10. Column-widths are editable, and they will stay the way you set them up.
11. You can choose which columns to display.
12. EHC can now optionally detect the offset from e-gold, and display transactions in your local time instead of GMT.
13. Click on a transaction and the indicator in the graph will move to the time of the transaction
14. Sorting bugs fixed.
15. PassPhrase URLencryption has finally been fixed, this should mean no more "invalid passphrases", some of you have had passes that were encrypted wrongly, and have had to change your passphrase. -Well, no more :)
16. Download size has been removed, as it is no longer an issue because of the new verification algorithm.
17. Purge old transactions permanently from account history, this will increase load-speed, and possibly give you a better overview.
18. Date ranges in the filters have been fixed, and options for ex. "today", "yesterday" has been added. These options will move along with the day, so you can set up a filter that will always show only transactions made that day or the day before (or the last 180 days).
19. Bugs regarding minimizing to the tray has been fixed.
20. Update several accounts with one click.
21. LOTS of minor bug-fixes
22. LOTS of minor stuff that I'm forgetting, probably a few not-so-minor things too...
23. Unfortunately new features usually come with new bugs, so although we've been 2 people testing very thouroughly this time, it is unlikely that we have caught all.

2004-9-1 Comshares and Rentacoder bid request

Hi all !

There are two parts to this update, so please read the second even if you don't care about the first. -Also, if you are tired of receiving these mails, please look all the way at the bottom.

Firstly I write to tell you that I will recommend investing with comshares again.
Agreed, they made a huge mistake a few months back, but since then they have been paying just as stable as before. I have been very cautious up untill now, and I actually closed the "My Investments" part of oz-coding primarily due to their mega-loss.
However, I think they have proven that it was a standalone mistake, and they are here for the long haul. Imagine any other HYIP pulling through what they have, any other would have closed down and taken what little was left. They do real investments, and real investments go the wrong way sometimes, their only mistake was to try recouping the lost by investing in more risky trades.
The monthly profit is only about 10-15% now, but that's still pretty good if the risk is as low as it is with comshares. - They are even more conservative with their investments now than they used to be, therefore the interest is also lower.

Anyways, take this as a reminder that they are still there, and I certainly recommend investing again. -I've already "re-fuelled" my own account :)
