To enable automation
This causes confusion for a lot of users, if you're having trouble, don't hestitate to contact me, I'll be happy to help !
1. Click here to open the e-gold account preferences in a new window
2. Log in, you should see your account preferences. Scroll down to the bottom.
3a. If you're on a static IP (ie. DSL) select "Allow from IP:" and enter "38.103.63.61".
3b. If you're on a dynamic IP (ie. dial-up) select "Allow from IP:" and enter "38.103.63".
4. Save the changes and log out.
To install EHC
Always make sure to uninstall any previous version you have, before installing a new one !
1. Download the file from the "Download"-link in the menu. Save it to your desktop.
2. Doubleclick the file (ehcxxx.exe) and click "install" to extract the files to a new folder.
3. Setup should run automatically, if not, simply doubleclick setup.exe in the new folder.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
please note that under some operating systems it may be nescessary to download the VB runtime files seperately. Click here if you have trouble installing.
To get your history
1. Click your "Start"-menu -> Programs -> OZ-coding -> E-gold History Checker. EHC will start.
2. Fill in your E-gold account number and passphrase (I'd recommend using the SRK-feature) and click update.
3. There's your history !
4. Get familiar with the layout, it may seem confusing at first, but believe me you'll appreciate it in the long run.
5. Be a happier E-gold user :)
Please note that whenever you change you Internet Service Provider your IP will also change and automation access will not work. For maximum security you should not set the "Allow from ANY IP" option, instead make sure to update the field to your current IP (or first 2-3 parts of it). You can always return to this page and see your current IP.
Your IP: 38.103.63.61
Important: Some Internet Service Providers use a dynamic IP even harder to determine, mine for example changes the last 2 parts more or less randomly, and the first two parts change about once a month. To add further to the confusion my the IP used to connect to danish servers, US servers and domestic servers all differ. If yours is similar this means that you can't count on the IP displayed on this page, luckily this isn't a problem. If you try to connect to E-gold through EHC without the correct automation options set up E-gold will send you an e-mail (subject: "Failed Automation Interface Access attempt notification") that contains the IP-adress that E-gold sees, this is the one you should use in your account preferences !

I'm afraid I'm not user-friendlyness-minded enough to write a complete help file (my explanations tend to get very technical).
