OZ-coding is a one-man hobby business.
About me
My name is Mikkel Christensen, I was born and raised in Denmark, but when I gained control of my own life at 18 I decided to move to Thailand. I have lived here a bit over 2 years, and I'm still loving it.
I live with my girlfriend in a northern Thai town called Chiang Rai, about 70 km from the Myanmar (Burmese) border. My dream is to turn programming into my living, instead of my hobby like it is now. Hopefully EHC can help me achieve that. If I succeed in making a living for myself on the computer I would like to start up some charity-project on the internet for the less fortunate children in Thailand, starting with Chiang Rai.
In Denmark I work with mentally disabled. To make ends meet I have to go back twice a year for about 2 months each time. Hopefully that'll soon be over.

Me failing to look cool.

Another one of my girlfriend.

Summer 2003, yearly one-week-party with the guys, record-attempt with 1.66 liters of beer. I made it in 24 seconds. Don't try this at home though, I gained about 5 kg that week.

My job in Denmark is to take care of mentally disabled. Sometimes it gets boring, and working alone you'll have to think of something.

Doesn't look like me at all, but for some reason I like this picture ;)

And finally an old one from back when I had my long hair... I kinda miss it :)

About the O-Z
I'm a bit embarrased about what I'm going to tell you. A lot of people ask me where the O-Z in OZ-coding comes from. Well here is the answer: When got my first internet connection, before I spoke much english I frequented several chat-rooms. I had to come up with a name.
Back then the letter "Z" was really popular, everything on the internet had to be something with "Z". Obviously my nickname had to be too. Speaking little-to-no english I made something up, my nick was "OpenZipper", "Open" supposed to signal that I was open to chat with anyone about anything, "Zipper" partly to have a "Z", and partly because I had an idol called "Zip".
A few years went by, I became interested in web-coding and got my first domain, openzipper.dk (still there by the way, but I use it for e-mail only). Then I started english-classes in school, and at some point around that time I finally found out what my nick (which had stuck for several years already) actually meant.
So should I give up my nick, or simply try to explain to those who asks? - I chose the latter.
- However, when I had to come up with a name for my (hopefully succesfull) programming-business, I thought it was a bit to vulgar, hence OZ-coding.com.
